PKFZ, Marseille-FOS Port Sign Strategic Alliance Pact

Port Klang Free Trade Zone (PKFZ) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Marseille-Fos Port (MFPA) to boost the strategic alliance between them.Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat said the MOU was aimed at establishing a framework for the cooperation between PKFZ and MFPA, one of the largest ports in Europe, to promote the halal industry in Malaysia and France.

MISC Berhad will upgrade its Halal Express Service linking the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East, effective later this month. The Malaysia-based carrier will expand the weekly service with a second loop to provide direct connections to and from Japan.

Malaysia starts 'double dip' shipping service for Pakistan

RECORDER REPORT KARACHI (April 21 2009): Malaysia has commenced its upgraded Halal Express Service (HES) for Pakistan with the maiden call of a large vessel at Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) on Monday. 'The volume of bilateral trade between Pakistan and Malaysia was recorded at $1.8 billion during last year,' Malaysian Deputy High Commission to Pakistan, Mohammed Khalid Abdul Razak told in a ceremony held at PICT to mark the commencement of HES.
