Al Islami Foods, Dubai, a pioneer in the halal food industry, has been awarded an SGS Cerfification for Best Food Safety and Hygience Practices recognizing the company’s superior quality standards, best practices and procedures established at Al Islami Cart project, a food franchise model.
Mr Saleh Lootah, CEO, Al Islami Foods will be speaking at the International Halal Market Conference being held in Brunei Darussalem on the 16-17 August 2008.

Here is a fast food chain that is 'adapting its menu' to meet the demand for Halal meat in Algeria. But being the 'number 3' hamburger chain in Europe we would hope their franchisees would realise the potential of turning their outlets Halal to include the millions of muslims across Europe and travelling to Europe as their customers. Their outlets in Morocco must be Halal as well, but would need this confirmed.

British Airways launches new 'taste team'

It is a good sign - and good business sense - that British Airways is catering to the Muslim Halal food market in the GCC region by giving them a nice serving of British cuisine Halal style! I thought the national dish for Britain was curry these days! This is all in line with the new push on Halal tourism. At least if you can eat good food in the air it might make you feel a bit better about paying the higher airfares.

Thai Airways International Halal Kitchen now Fully Certified

Responding to growing demand from thousands of Muslim travellers every day, Thai Airways International has signed an MoU with the Islamic Committee of Samut Prakarn Province to receive permission for usage of the Halal Logo by the Central Islamic Committee of Thailand.
